Customer's reviews

Erik is absolutely incredible! I took lessons from him and he is the most knowledgeable person I have ever met in my life regarding the golf swing. Not only does he know everything, he backs it up by technology and science to give me the highest value lesson I have ever experienced. I felt like a vip from the beginning when he picked me up on the golf cart at the parking lot and took be around the back of the driving range to his private instruction bay. He has all the cameras and equipment to monitor my swing and in a very short time, the principles he taught me added 20 yards to my shot, and not just my drive, but all my clubs. If you are serious about improving in golf there is no one better than Erik. I would give him 6 stars if I could. ~ Preston W
I had a private lesson with Eric last year and it was very helpful. He took a lot of time and was patient with his instruction. I appreciated the technology he used (videos etc) where I could see step by step my posture, technique, swing, etc. It was helpful to watch myself swing and also hear his instruction each step of the way. I came away with learning what areas I did well and other areas I needed to work on. I joined his women’s league and really enjoyed myself. It is a casual, learning league, meeting new, wonderful women who just want to get out and practice as well. Nine holes was perfect for me and it got me out on the beautiful course to practice. Life got busy with my daughter’s wedding and then an elbow injury, but I’d like to get back to the league very soon! ~ Nancy H
I did Erik's virtual lesson program for 6 months. I had played golf sporadically for many years before and wasn't terrible (compared to my usual playing partners), but had never had a golf lesson and was eager to get better. Erik's program was perfect for me. He laid out a very clear process for improvement, focusing on intentional, short practice sessions every day. He reviewed videos I sent him every week and gave me lots of helpful drills and explanations for how they would improve my swing. By the end of the program, my swing felt great and I saw immediate results -- my scores dropped by about 10 strokes! The best part is that I have all of the knowledge I need to keep my swing maintained myself now. So glad I did this program! ~ Brett L

Questions & Answers

Is there an indoor place to hit golf balls at in Scottsdale.
Yes, you can go to EJS Golf at McCormick Ranch. I have a fully indoor and fully outdoor air conditioned teaching bay. Get out of the heat and let's work on becoming a consistent striker of the golf ball with power and distance!
As a life long slicer of the golf ball, is there any hope for someone like me?
This is an easy answer, yes. For most golfers I can have them drawing the golf ball in just a few short golf swings. When the impact dynamics are understood and matched with a proper club path, it will no longer seem so impossible!
Can I go from a 12 hdcp to a scratch handicap in a year or so?
Of course you can. In my year long programs which can me found under Next Level Training on EJSGolf.com, this is what it is all about. There are two parts to the story of going from a 10 or 12 handicap to a scratch golfer. One is becoming a much better ball striker and then number two is learning to score. Much of the second half of the year is focused on the scoring part.
Q: How does EJS Golf Academy tailor instructions to individual needs?
A: Coach Erik Schjolberg at EJS Golf Academy identifies areas for improvement and tailors instructions to each student's specific needs.
Why do golf professionals adopt new moves in their golf swings and amateurs don’t for the most part?
This is all based on the way someone practices and not the time variable as most would think. Building new motor patterns take discipline. Most amateur golfers don’t understand how we attain new motor patterns. Instant gratification is the other difference. Process over results. My students get incredible results and there are some who call me out as being untruthful b/c they may practice, really they are exercising, and they don’t see what my students do in 15 minutes per day from home.
